Agreement on the 2019 salary negotiations

Better business results in 2018 than previously anticipated, the upwards revision of the guidance figures for 2019, a simultaneous increase in consumer prices and health insurance premiums over the coming year, not to mention the extraordinary commitment of Roche employees – these were the main arguments put forward by the Roche Employees’ Association (AVR) at this year’s salary negotiations with Roche management.

The negotiations held on 9 and 16 November were animated, yet were conducted with respect and were completely evidence-based. At the negotiations, the AVR campaigned successfully on behalf of employees: the negotiating parties ultimately agreed upon a 1.2 percent increase in the payroll for all Roche employees in Switzerland, effective 1 April 2019.

The AVR is satisfied with this result, especially given that no agreement was reached last year, and it hopes that this will also be accepted by employees.
