CSS framework agreement: information events a great success

In June the Roche Employees’ Association (AVR) concluded a framework agreement for supplementary health insurance with CSS Insurance. All AVR members can now take advantage of preferential conditions on selected supplementary health insurance from CSS. What’s special about this is that the AVR has agreed with CSS that its members do not have to undergo the health check usually required when changing health insurer. The transfer offer also applies to the AVR member's partner and children living in the same household, with no age limit.

To help Roche employees find out more about the offer, in August the AVR and CSS teamed up for a total of six information sessions at Roche’s Basel/Kaiseraugst site. And for English-speaking employees, the events were simultaneously translated into English. There was a great deal of interest in the events, with an average of around 60 employees taking part. “We got off to a good start, with more people attending than we expected,” says AVR President Adnan Tanglay.

Then it was time for the advisory days: the first one was held in Basel at the end of August and the second in Kaiseraugst at the beginning of September. Here, interested employees could receive personal advice from CSS on the new offer in a 15-30-minute consultation.

Important: when switching over to CSS, the termination of the existing policy must be received by your current insurer by 30 September. CSS would be pleased to take care of any formalities involved in changing your insurer. The transfer offer is valid until 31 December 2020 for all Roche employees who have joined the AVR by 31 December 2019, as well as their families. People of retirement age or who are resident abroad are, for the moment, excluded. “However, we are working hard on a solution for cross-border commuters,” Tanglay reveals.
